Best Of Slim and Sandra

Monday - Friday

It's wild to think how this whole venture started. Back in 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, the husband and wife team of Slim and Sandra went downstairs to their basement out of pure boredom and flipped on a microphone. When you tune in, this is what you're in for—great music and light-hearted conversation. We love to play interactive games as well. This is not a radio show but […]

Wayne “Slim” Reid, born on March 16, 1973, in Toronto, Ontario, embarked on his commercial radio journey in 1990 at only 17 years old when he began producing radio shows for renowned personalities Tom Rivers, Tarzan Dan, KJ and Cat Spencer. This experience ignited his passion for radio. Slim eagerly pursued an on-air career, diligently working through various on-air shifts, from weekends to overnights, always striving to hone his craft.

Slim’s steadfast determination led him to be a part of a groundbreaking venture – Canada’s first urban station, Flow 93.5. Being involved in this pioneering project remains a cherished career highlight for him. Co-hosting the afternoon drive at Flow was an immense privilege, and Slim embraced every opportunity to entertain and connect with his audience.

In 2001, Slim’s talent was recognized when he won the prestigious UMAC award for Best Radio Personality. Feeling inspired and eager for new challenges, he set his sights on morning radio. With a heartfelt farewell to his hometown, Slim ventured west to Vancouver, a city known for its vibrant radio scene.

Slim landed at Canada’s second official urban radio station, The Beat 94.5.

Business aside, meeting the likes of DJ Ali Baba (what a celebrity LOL), Barbara Beam, Vanessa T, DJ Flipout, and Jay Swing was worth the trip out west alone.

Putting together a morning show with the very talented Big D, Nira Arora, and Jasmina was another highlight which will never be forgotten.

The West Coast proved beneficial not only for Slim’s career but also for his personal growth. It taught him the importance of resilience and adaptability, reinforcing that overcoming obstacles and pursuing dreams are worthwhile endeavours. As a fervent music lover, Slim enjoys sharing his passion with thousands of morning listeners, offering insights into the latest trends and creating a lively atmosphere.

With years of experience and an undiminished enthusiasm for music, Slim is more invigorated than ever to conquer new challenges and expand his horizons in the industry. His journey continues, inspiring listeners and proving that with dedication and perseverance, anything is possible.
