Slim (born Wayne Reid on March 16th, 1973, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) started his career in 1990, producing radio shows for Tom Rivers & Tarzan Dan. After being bitten by the radio bug, I wanted more; I branched out in search of my on-air career.
Slim has climbed to the top steady and focused, taking on every on-air shift from weekends to overnights. There have been many highlights in Slim’s career, but none match the dream of being part of the first Urban station in Canada, Flow 93.5.
“I’ve always considered myself blessed to have co-hosted the afternoon drive at Flow. Just being allowed in the building was good enough for me!”
After winning the UMAC award for best radio personality in 2001, Slim wanted to take on the ultimate radio challenge, MORNINGS. So with a tearful goodbye to his home in the “Big Smoke,” Slim packed his things and headed west to Van City.
“The West Coast was good for me…not only for my career but also for me personally.” Leaving the strength of his family and friends to embark on something so exciting yet unsure taught Slim that no matter what obstacles are presented in one’s life if you genuinely want something, go after it.
Music is his life, and nothing makes Slim happier than sharing that same love of music with thousands of listeners every morning, “I am more pumped than ever and ready for anything. In the words of a GREAT late-night host…Let’s Get Busy!”
“Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.” ~ Seneca
