It seems nowadays, as I get older, I get less excited about a new album release (for good reasons, TRUST ME).

But there is a particular artist I have enjoyed watching mature musically.

P!nk!

It seems like only yesterday that her debut album, “Can’t Take Me Home,” ended up in my bunk at the radio station.

“….there you go…lol” Ahh, memories.

A black and white image of the word " unique ".

Twenty-plus years later, “….here she is…”

P!nk, the Grammy award-winning singer, has revealed that the making of the music video for “Lady Marmalade” wasn’t an enjoyable experience. The famous 2001 track featured Lil’ Kim, Mya, and Christina Aguilera and was ranked last on her list of favourite music videos. P!nk commented, “It wasn’t very fun to make. I’m all about fun and it was, like, a lot of fuss, and there were some personalities…Kim and Mya were nice.”

The “What About Us” singer has previously spoken about tensions with Christina, which arose during the recording of “Lady Marmalade.” In a VH1 Behind the Music special, Pink shared that she had stood up to Ron Fair, the record executive when he suggested that Christina take the lead part. P!nk recalled, “I said, ‘Hi. How are you? So nice of you to introduce yourself. I’m P!nk. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the f–king meeting’s about.

P!nk and Christina Aguilera’s Reconciliation.

In 2017, P!nk tweeted, “I [love] Xtina, we’ve made amends,” and also said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that she and Christina made up while filming The Voice the previous year when she served as an advisor to the “Beautiful” singer’s team. P!nk also told host Andy Cohen that their feud once turned physical, saying Christina once swung at her at a club and that it was “hilarious.”

In 2019, during her appearance on WWHL, the “What a Girl Wants” singer responded to the accusation. “Look at her and look at me,” she told Andy. “I wouldn’t swing on her. She’s like, she’s like, you know, she can beat my ass. Are you kidding me? She could really beat my ass then.” Christina also spoke about the origin of their feud. “I know she had some, you know, feelings or whatever about how the recording of ‘Lady Marmalade’ went down and all that,” she said, “and I know the actual video, she intimidated me, because she was a little heckling me in the audience, a little bit behind the director and I was like, ‘Oh, what’s going on?'” Christina continued, “That’s what she did back then. But she’s like, you know, she’s a different person now — she’s a mom, she’s like, she’s cool.”

P!nk and Christina have reconciled despite the tensions and even worked together again. In 2019, they collaborated on the song “Fall In Line,” which was included on Christina’s album, “Liberation.” The two seem to have put their differences aside and moved on from the drama surrounding the recording of “Lady Marmalade.”

While “Lady Marmalade” is undoubtedly a popular song and music video, P!nk’s experience makes it seem anything but fun.

P!nk’s new album “Trustfall” has dropped.
