If you missed SZA in the 6IX at The Scotiabank Arena, you missed it.
SZA recently wrapped up her short tour in LA.
SZA’s unforgettable performance arena tour ended with two magnificent shows at The Forum in Los Angeles on March 22nd and 23rd. The audience left satisfied with their high expectations met.
I missed Omar Apollo’s opening set. DANG! Do yourself a favour and check out this, brother.
The opening act, Omar Apollo, has impressed audiences nationwide, demonstrating that his amazing performance makes arriving early worthwhile. SZA mentioned in her Billboard Women In Music cover story that she aimed for her concert to echo a Broadway production, with excitement to “pop ass, cry, and give theatre.” She accomplished nearly all of these objectives (excerpt from Billboard )
On March 22nd, SZA delivered a memorable live show with the passion and energy of an opening night. Notable attendees included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Adele, Kim Kardashian, and many more.
Determining the most remarkable aspect of SZA’s show is difficult, as her performance was extraordinary. The 90-minute set consisted of numerous costume changes, elaborate choreography, and seamlessly integrating her two albums – CTRL and SOS – into a single, reflective story.
From the beginning, water played a vital role, symbolizing the tumultuous nature of love and the music industry. Nevertheless, SZA demonstrated her ability to withstand any storm.
SZA’s “Broken Clocks” rendition on a makeshift loading dock led to her boarding a weathered boat for “All the Stars,” a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Smooth sailing came with songs like “Garden (Say It Like Dat),” while the assertive “Low” brought stormy weather and an impressive split by SZA.
Captivating the audience, SZA’s unforgettable performance soared above them, singing “Supermodel” and “Nobody Gets Me.” Kim Kardashian introduced the latter song and recorded a video with Kylie Jenner singing along.
The underwater-themed act featured a giant anchor, and SZA performed the Grammy-winning hit “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat. The stage transformed once again for “Kill Bill,” followed by “I Hate U” and “The Weekend.”
SZA sang the tuneful “Good Days” for her encore before a screen descended, displaying “The End” in stars and credits, emphasizing her creative direction.
As the show wrapped up, SZA (Solana Rowe) appeared one last time to share her heartfelt appreciation. Her journey seemed a perfect storm, but her triumphant tour proved she would always remain at the center of it all.
